Increasing the knowledge and consumption of native wild foods across Northeast Ohio
Changing the narrative about wild food
I am a wild food educator in Northeast Ohio and a native plant enthusiast. Not only are native plants many times more beneficial to the environment they are also delicious. I hope to inspire people to utilize the lost flavors that are available right in their backyard.
What is Feral Rustbelt?
Feral Rustbelt was inspired by the decline in my city, Cleveland Ohio. I am watching huge factories crumble and rewild every day and I am interested in analyzing this type of urban succession further. I view the presence of “weeds” as a sign of resilience and I want to educate people about how to appreciate them and utilize them to improve their lives.
